My Story

Cooking for me in the past has always been a daunting task, it reminds me of when I first tried to cook a simple omelet “didn’t know much about seasoning and it showed!!” Anyway I always strived at being totally self sufficient, and I figured that if i can cook my own food “and not have to rely on my mommy!” that would be the way to go.

But the problem was…I didn’t have the foggiest clue on the first thing about cooking a decent meal. And I didn’t want to buy a bunch of pans, spatulas, and other cooking utensils in the beginning. Not to mention all my friends thought I was a nut!

So something inside me told me to go ahead and take the plunge into culinary arena. I decided to just borrow my moms pots, pans, and cooking utensils for the trial run to decide if this was really something I can do. Not going to mention how many books and courses I have taken “but it was a few!” And I watched my mom cook quite a bit more since my interest was peaked. Then she sadly passed away in 1997, but I did manage to learn quite a bit from her during her time here.

One of the things I learned from her was “we always tend to make things harder then they have to be!” I found out early on that even though all my friends thought I was nuts! I really love cooking…I’m actually passionately obsessed with it! That literally happened the first time I succeeded with cooking my first dinner. When all my family and friends raved about the turkey I cooked. ” remember I couldn’t even cook an egg, not that long ago!”

I’m surely happy that I decided to get off my rump and dig into those courses and many books, or who knows… I may have never discovered this passion of mine. What’s great is now I can create an endless variety of breakfast’s,lunches, dinners you name it I can cook it. And all I really did… was I just wanted to learn how to cook in a really bad way, and that was actually a lot of fun.

I guess the only downside is that now all my friends and family, who thought I was a nut…always want to come over for dinner! But I don’t mind because I always have enough for everyone who comes by.
